Abstract:
Implant-supported fixed complete dentures, also known as implant-supported full-arch prostheses, provides many advantages for patients and can significantly improve their quality of life.
Dentistry has witnessed remarkable advancements with the emergence of new technologies that are largely impacting restorative dentistry and prosthodontics. This lecture shows recent technological innovations for full-arch implant supported restorations. Enhanced imaging technologies, such as CBCT and scanners, enable precise digital assessments and virtual planning. Computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) allows for the precise design and fabrication of a prosthetic, optimization of function and aesthetic outcomes along with reduced clinical chair-time and improved patient experiences.
Advancements in material science have introduced high-performance materials such as zirconia and advanced polymers, which offer superior strength, durability, and biocompatibility to enhance the longevity of prostheses. Additionally, developments in additive manufacturing (3D printing) are reshaping customized and cost-effective production of prosthesis with intricate designs and geometries.
The integration of these cutting-edge technologies is revolutionizing the full-arch implant-supported fixed prostheses landscape and continued research and technological advancements pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved in the near future.
