Synopsis:
Replacing two adjacent teeth, such as the maxillary, central, and lateral incisors, is one of the dilemmas that a clinician must face. Especially if the patient has a high smile line and shows
the interdental papilla. The alternatives of whether to replace the teeth with two adjacent implants or an implant and an ovate pontic will depend on many variables. This presentation will discuss an interdisciplinary approach, using prosthodontics, surgical and orthodontic management when appropriate.
Learning Objectives:
• To know whether to place implants immediately into sockets and whether to place two adjacent implants or one implant and a cantilever pontic.
• It will also discuss grafting of the sockets and when it is appropriate to do so.
• To also understand when to use prosthetic pink ceramics versus trying to replace a papilla with the patient’s own tissue.
