For successful comprehensive dentistry, the planning of the case and precise execution is very important. The digitalization process in prosthetic dentistry has introduced new opportunities which can help to solve current clinical and dental laboratory challenges.
As many of the digital techniques are already available in clinical practice and laboratory it is of great importance to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of these techniques/processes.
Hence, the aim of this lecture is to discuss and compare CAD/CAM in prosthetic dentistry from start to finish with the conventional workflow, through the eyes of a clinician.
- perform an esthetic/functional treatment plan with a digital approach
- how to combine digital and conventional workflows in the execution phase
- learn to understand the impact of the different workflows and their advantages and disadvantages
