Minimally invasive dentistry: From Myth to Evidence
Time: 10:30 AM, February 21, 2025
Speaker: Dr. Petra Gierthmuehlen
Synopsis:
The shift in fixed prosthodontics from conventional to minimally invasive treatments is supported by the enduring clinical success of all-ceramic restorations. Progress in all-ceramic and CAD/CAM material systems, coupled with digital planning and fabrication, allows for the creation of innovative treatment approaches for rehabilitating severely compromised dentition using high- strength glass and translucent zirconia ceramics. Digital face scans and novel CAD/CAM applications offer a standardized manufacturing process, resulting in a reliable, predictable and economic workflow for complex rehabilitations. Moreover the esthetic outcome with respect to color and appearance of these restorations and their integration into the facial harmony is superior. The lecture will showcase case series and scientific evidence related to the enduring clinical success of all-ceramic materials and digital restorative technologies.
Learning Objectives:
1. Gaining Insight into Emerging Technologies in Digital Dentistry
2. Emphasizing the Benefits of Contemporary CAD/CAM Materials and Comprehensive Digital Workflows
3. Showcasing Case Series and Scientific Evidence on the Clinical Success of CAD/CAM Materials and Associated Minimally Invasive Preparation Designs
